Exploring the Role and Educational Requirements of Paramedics within Primary Care (EXPREPP)
Overview Summary of Project
This qualitative study is exploring stakeholder perspectives with experience of paramedics working in primary care, on the education and training required to work effectively as a paramedic in primary care settings, establishing whether paramedics have the appropriate education, training, and skills and whether this model is sustainable.

Explore • How the role of the paramedic working within primary care has been defined • Current educational training and experience requirements for paramedics to enter primary care Establish • Whether paramedics feel they are equipped with the right skills and knowledge to enter primary care • Stakeholder perceptions of whether paramedics can be effective in primary care • Whether future PCP education can be standardised • What educational, training, experience is needed for PCP to be effective within primary care
